Crystal Weaver and Kyle Sollenberger, developers behind downtown Lancaster’s newest ‘urban boutique’ hotel, Surveyor, met with Steeple View Lofts’ residents on June 11 to present their plans and discuss with members of the community.
“We’re interested in creating a space where community can happen,” started Weaver.
The 50-plus room hotel is planned for 118 N. Prince St., just east of Steeple View Lofts. Build out will include redevelopment of a parking lot on the north side of the current site. The lot currently houses a summer pop-up park. Construction will begin in September, with a tentative opening in fall 2016. Site development will be implemented under Benchmark Construction of Ephrata.
“The design and plans for the new Surveyor Hotel are very exciting,” began Daryl Peifer, Director of Business Development for Landis Communities, the umbrella organization operating Steeple View Lofts. “Kyle and Crystal’s ingenuity for space and the use on the westside of the property — facing Water Street — is most helpful in continuing to build a neighborhood.”
The hotel will feature a full restaurant and bar with indoor and outdoor courtyard seating located at the rear of the building. Heritage brand retailer, Ellicott & Company will also reside on the first floor of the space.
“The Surveyor Hotel will be a welcome addition to the neighborhood,” said Michael Sprunger, Residence Manager at Steeple View Lofts. “It promises to provide great new amenities to the Prince Street corridor and the design of the building offers the kind of social space that makes urban living so attractive.”
Surveyor Hotel joins numerous business along Lancaster’s iconic Gallery Row, including Miesse Candies and Friendship Heart Gallery, two retailers operating out of Steeple View Lofts’ building.
“We are very excited to have Surveyor Hotel as a neighbor,” said Tracy Artus, Owner at Miesse Candies. “It will be a wonderful source of customers for everyone in Lancaster City and especially us on Gallery Row.”
Steeple View Lofts would like to welcome Surveyor Hotel to the community! Many thanks to Crystal and Kyle for meeting and discussing with our residents. We are all looking forward to this wonderful addition to our community!
