Centered in Lancaster’s vibrant downtown, Mulberry St. has served motorists and pedestrians for many years. Since March, construction crews have been working to revert the roadway to a two-way street. “The project is expected to take 15 months. Funding for the $2.77 million project comes from $1.52 million in city funds, $675,000 in federal funds and $575,000 in state funds,” reports Lancaster Online.
Updates to the roadway include bike lines, permeable pavement, vegetated curbs, rain gardens newly planted trees and more. Steeple View Lofts is located just one block from Mulberry Street. Our +55 community enjoys walking and riding to the wonderful variety of downtown restaurants and boutiques. These roadway improvements will be a welcome addition to our downtown community!
During construction, motorists can expect lane and parking restrictions. Residents are encouraged to bookmark the city’s current road work overview for a full description/location of construction. For some great images of construction progress, please visit Save It Lancaster.
