My, oh my! It sure is frigid out there. We want you to maintain your sense of wonder while finding warm things to do indoors around the city. Here are some of our findings!

Ladies Night at Building Character
Fridays, January 19 and February 16 — 6:30pm-9pm
Ladies can come get pampered at Lancaster’s largest downtown retailer—over 35 shops under one roof! Every third Friday of the month, Building Character hosts the Ladies Night Out event featuring free massages, free drink samples, free sweet treats, and free parking.

Winter Dinner Party with Lancaster Fellow Foodies
Saturday, January 20 — 6pm-8pm
BYOB and join Chef Michael Bedenbaugh at Commonwealth on Queen for a decadent four-course winter themed dinner. The appetizer will be a roasted mushroom bisque, followed by a winter salad made of burnt lemon vinaigrette covering ricotta salata, pickled onion, bacon, and baby winter greens. The entree will be cider poached apples and brie stuffed inside pork, with caramelized onion and garlic, roasted radicchio, and fingerling potatoes—all finished in an apple cider glaze! Dessert and beverages include espresso cheesecake with toasted hazelnut crust paired with coffee, cocoa, mulled cider, or flavored water!

Sojo: A 75-Years Young Appalachian Hiker’s Travelogue
Friday, February 2 — 7pm-9pm
WE THE PEOPLE is the Ware Center’s First Friday program in which local artists representing the great mosaic of our community offer presentations of their work in performance genres as diverse as our nation. Local lawyer and adventurist Soren West recounts how he lived his childhood dream, hiking the Appalachian trail, at 74! Hiking 2,189.1 miles from Maine to Georgia is a feat for anyone; listen as West shares his hiker travelogues to learn how he did it! Performance begins at 7pm. Mark your calendar and register for your seat!
