A fairly new addition to the downtown food scene is Sprout, a quaint Vietnamese restaurant located on 58 N Prince Street, a two-minute walk from us here at Steeple View Lofts.

Opened in 2016, Sprout serves a menu of several soups, rice platters, Banh Mi sandwiches, egg rolls and spring rolls. Their companion location, Rice & Noodles has been open since 2006, serving a wide variety of dishes and is a local favorite.

Coming from a long line of restaurateurs, Vy Banh, the owner of Sprout and Rice & Noodles, learned the trade from her grandfather who started a chain of restaurants in Vietnam in the 60s. After the fall of Saigon, her family fled to America for new beginnings.

Her family establishing a small chain of restaurants in New Orleans in the early 2000s and were considered to be making some of the best Vietnamese food in the Greater New Orleans area. After Hurricane Katrina hit, the family decided to move to Lancaster. A year later they opened the now loved Rice & Noodles on Lititz Pike.

Think of Sprout next time you have a hankering for Pho. They’re open 11am-7pm, Monday through Saturday!
